Anaesthetist

Anaesthetists are highly trained doctors. In addition to providing anaesthetics for operations. Anaesthetics are used during some tests and operations to induce sleep or numb sensation to prevent pain and discomfort.

Complications can result in serious and permanent loss of function, for example nerve damage from regional anaesthesia

Cardiovascular Surgeon

Heart diseases, cardiovascular, pulmonary and inflammatory diseases of the heart, coronary artery disease, heart attack, angina, hypertension and blood clotting disorders.

Cardiovascular Surgeons have years of clinical knowledge and years of surgical expertise. They plan the most comprehensive care program for the surgical management of cardiac, thoracic and peripheral vascular disease.

Chiropractor

Chiropractic services are an alternative health practice primarily for the neuromuscular system which helps avoid surgeries or invasive procedures. A chiropractic doctor will work to manipulate and manually change and adjust bones to realign a spine and relieve pressure from troubled areas.

Musculoskeletal system disorders (especially the spine), spinal subluxation (misalignment of joint/vertebrae), muscular tension, foot disorders.

Dermatologist

Dermatology involves but is not limited to study, research, and diagnosis of normal and disorders, diseases, cancers, cosmetic and ageing conditions of the skin, fat, hair, nails and oral and genital membranes, and the management of these by different investigations and therapies, including but not limited to dermatohistopathology, topical and systemic medications, dermatologic surgery and dermatologic cosmetic surgery, immunotherapy, phototherapy, laser therapy, radiotherapy and photodynamic therapy. Skin allergies, skin cancers, eczema, psoriasis, fungal infections (hair, nails), cysts, lesions, warts, moles, birthmarks, acne, spider bites, cutaneous lesions, solar keratoses, vitialigo and scars.

ENT (Eears, Nose and Throat)

Physicians trained in the medical and surgical management and treatment of patients with diseases and disorders of the ear, nose, throat (ENT), and related structures of the head and neck. They are commonly referred to as ENT physicians.

Ear, nose and throat cancers, hearing loss, tinnitus, nose/sinus disorders, breathing and balance problems, loss of speech, taste and/or smell. Palate and tongue disorders from head or skull trauma.

General Surgeon

As the title indicates, this is a wide-ranging area of surgery with many subspecialties. The defining feature of general surgeons is that they have a wide range of knowledge and skills to deal with all kinds of surgical emergencies, with an emphasis on acute abdominal problems. They also carry out a large number of elective operations.

General Practitioner

A general practitioner (GP) is a doctor who is also qualified in general medical practice. GPs are often the first point of contact for someone, of any age, who feels sick or has a health concern. They treat a wide range of medical conditions and health issues.

A GP may also undertake further education in specific areas such as women’s or men’s health, sports medicine or paediatrics.

Gynaecologist and Obstetrician

Obstetrics and gynaecology is the field of medicine that focuses on the care of the female reproductive system. An obstetrician deals primarily with the management of pregnancy, and is responsible for overseeing the labour process and the puerperium, or the period that directly follows childbirth. A gynaecologist, on the other hand, is involved in the general health of the female reproductive system. This includes the diagnosis, treatment, and management of obstetric complications, and comes with a surgical component.

Neurologist

A neurologist is a doctor with specialized training in diagnosing and treating diseases of the brain, spinal cord, peripheral nerves, and muscles. Most of the time, a primary care doctor refers patients to a neurologist if they have symptoms that indicate a neurological condition. Neurologists are not surgeons. Those who perform surgery are called neurosurgeons and they undergo a surgical, rather than internal medicine, residency.

Neurosurgeon

Neurosurgery is a medical specialty that focuses on the prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation of disorders affecting the nervous system, which includes the brain, spinal cord, and the peripheral nerves. The field deals with all manners of pathology including congenital, acquired, trauma, infection-related, and degenerative.

Occupational Therapist

Occupational therapy is often mistaken for something having to do with career counselling. In fact, occupational therapists aren’t worried about jobs; they’re focused on the activities that give daily life meaning. Occupational therapy helps patients recover or develop skills needed for the activities of daily living, including self-care, leisure, independent living and work. Therapists work in hospitals, in schools, in nursing homes and with patients in their own homes.

Oral and Mixallo Facial Surgeon

An oral and maxillofacial surgeon treats dental and medical problems involving the oral cavity and the maxillofacial area. The maxillofacial region of the body includes the bones of the forehead, face, cheekbones and the soft tissues of those areas. Surgery may be performed in order to treat or correct various medical or dental conditions. Oral and maxillofacial surgery is considered a dental specialty, but the type of work required is usually much more complex than what a general dentist does. An orthopaedic surgeon is a medical doctor who specializes in diagnosing and treating problems of the musculoskeletal system. Your musculoskeletal system includes your bones, muscles, joints, nerves, tendons, ligaments and cartilage — the body parts that allow you to move normally. Orthopaedic surgeons usually have about 14 years of higher education

Pain Management Specialist

Pain doctors specialize in the management of pain as a symptom of disease and primary pain disorders. They treat patients who experience pain related to a specific cause (e.g., cancer pain, injury, postoperative pain) and patients who suffer pain as a primary condition (e.g., frequent headaches, neuropathic pain).

Pain management specialists often serve as consultants to other physicians and health care providers (e.g., physical therapists) and coordinate patient care. They diagnose conditions, provide treatment (e.g., prescribe medication and rehabilitation services, perform procedures to relieve pain), and counsel patients and their families.

Physician

A person who is trained in the art of healing. In the UK, a physician is a specialist in internal or general medicine, whereas in the US a physician is any doctor of medicine. The term generally refers to a person who has earned a Doctor of Medicine, Doctor of Osteopathy, or Doctor of Naturopathy degree and who is accepted as a practitioner of medicine under the laws of the state, province, and/or nation in which he or she practices.

Physiotherapist

The treatment of disease, injury, or deformity by physical methods such as massage, heat treatment, and exercise rather than by drugs or surgery.

Plastic and General Reconstructive Surgeon

Reconstructive plastic surgery is done to correct facial and body abnormalities caused by birth defects, injury, disease, or aging. Usually, the goal of reconstructive plastic surgery is to improve body function. However, reconstructive plastic surgery may also be done to create a more normal appearance and improve self-esteem (this may also be called cosmetic surgery). Podiatrist

Podiatrists are medical specialists who help with problems that affect your feet or lower legs. They can treat injuries as well as complications from ongoing health issues like diabetes. You might hear them called a podiatric physician or doctor of podiatric medicine.

Psychiatrist

Psychiatry is an area of medicine involving the study, diagnosis and treatment of mental health disorders. A person’s mental health is influenced by a combination of factors that are both specific to an individual as well as related to interactions with society, community, and family.

Psychologist, Clinical/Neuro

Clinical Neuropsychology is a specialty field within clinical psychology, dedicated to understanding the relationships between brain and behaviour, particularly as these relationships can be applied to the diagnosis of brain disorder, assessment of cognitive and behavioural functioning and the design of effective treatment.

Psychologist

At its broadest definition, psychology is the study of the mind and behaviour. This is what psychologists do. By examining both individual behaviours as well as the behaviour of groups, psychologists work towards understanding human activity, treating mental disorders, and counselling people to help them achieve emotional stability.

Psychology as a discipline encompasses a wide range of studies including perception, attention, comprehension, intelligence, emotions, personality, behaviour, relationships, and even the subconscious. There’s a lot going on in our minds and psychologists are dedicated to understanding every bit.

Radiologist

Radiologists are doctors who specialize in using medical imaging to diagnose and treat people with various conditions. Radiologists usually do not perform the imaging tests. Instead, they review and interpret the scans to aid in making a diagnosis.

Radiographer

A radiographer has a different role involving medical imaging. Radiographers do not interpret the results or make a diagnosis. Instead, they are healthcare professions who perform the imaging scans.

Urologist

A urologist, or urologic surgeon, is a specially trained physician who provides care for the organs and issues of the urinary tract in women, men and children, all of whom can have different urological issues. Urologists also treat problems in the male reproductive system and organs, some issues with female reproductive organs, and disorders of the adrenal glands, which are on top of the kidneys and control the production of hormones in the body.

Vascular Surgeon

A vascular surgeon is a physician specializing in diagnosing and treating vascular diseases in all parts of the body except the brain and heart. Vascular surgeons treat vascular conditions surgically and non-surgically. In recent years, vascular surgery has evolved to include open surgical procedures as well as newer endovascular procedures.
